BEGINNER LESSONS
This course is intended for beginning students who are particularly interested in blues playing and literally follows the path of my own personal evolution learning to play guitar. Dig in!
βTo learn to express yourself on the guitar there is no better place to start than The Blues.β

what you will learn:
-
A PERSONALIZED LEARNING JOURNEY
This course focuses on learning the guitar, from the ground up, in the same way that I did. We focus on the building blocks of blues playing that I, myself, learned listening to Lightning Hopkins, Browny McGee, John Lee Hooker, and later, the great Chicago blues artists like Muddy Waters, Hubert Sumlin and many others. Here youβll learn the fundamentals of blues guitar playing that are present in all of the great Blues players of past and present. You might be the future!
-
A COMPREHENSIVE 25 LESSON COURSE
As the course develops youβll learn the predominant scale that runs thru the blues, the fundamental chord voicings and then weβll explore some of the chordal development that started coming forward with the electric, Chicago Blues style. This is where Country and City Blues really came together, influencing Pop music so deeply - especially that of the British!
-
A FOCUS ON BLUES GUITAR PLAYING
Learning these Blues fundamentals will lay the ground for anything else you might want to learn on the guitar. The chords are all there as well as the rhythm. And youβll have command of the most broadly used tool in improvisation: the pentatonic scale.
